RIP Light up the night
Recently one of SeaWorld's several ridiculous and tacky entertainment geared shows took its final bow. Thanks to our activism and voices Light up the night has officially finished!
Light up the night was an evening/night show that featured bright lights, loud cheesy music and even fireworks. An assault of blaring sound that was likely uncomfortable for sensitive orcas. The show was overwhelmingly entertainment geared with the orcas performing the usual demeaning tricks dressed up as 'behaviours'. Soon the other tacky shows including One Ocean, a show that has been running since 2011, will also end. They will be replaced by new 'educational' shows that will apparently feature only natural behaviours.
Non surprisingly, pro caps are decrying these changes and mourning the cancelled shows. Ironic considering it is these very pros whom have always maintained that they value the educational aspect of SeaWorld and support captivity as a result of it. Hypocritical much? Their reaction CLEARLY displays what they REALLY value, that being entertainment. It would seem 'education' is merely thrown around as a buzz word by the pro cap crowd to justify and conceal their selfish desire for entertainment.
The end of this show and the eventual end of the other tacky shows represents yet another significant change at SeaWorld and win for the anti community. One step closer to the end goal..
