Peak, the bottlenose dolphin
Peak, a Bottlenose Dolphin, died on October 18, 2016, at Kagoshima City Aquarium in Japan. She was estimated to be 6 years old.
Peak was captured in December 2012 in Taiji and was transferred from Wakayama to the aquarium on January 10, 2013.
She had been ob 24-hour watch after staff noticed a change in behaviour. She was inspected and blood samples were taken. She was given fluid replacement and an antibiotic injection.
In the early morning of the 18th, her condition took a sudden change, and at 7:23, she passed away.
Her cause of death is unknown, but it will be studied in detail and dissection.
